The Valleys Church believes in a different approach to church. Rather than meeting in large, auditorium-style buildings with classrooms, offices and the like, we choose to meet in homes, in groups no larger than 20 or so people. Why? There are many reasons, but the most important reasons are discipleship, accountability and it is Biblical. Really—it is Biblical? Absolutely! Every letter written by an Apostle in the New Testament—from Paul to Peter to John—was written to churches that met in homes! In fact, the church started in the book of Acts as a network of house churches (Acts 2).
Life is not meant to be lived alone. In fact, God hates loneliness. You were created to experience life with other people, and that’s why at The Valleys Church, we encourage you to join us at one of our house churches that meet across the Roanoke and New River Valleys. Each house church will be a place where you can find God, food, rest and people just like you. Each church gathers weekly, mostly on Sunday mornings. (We do offer a once-a-month celebration service where all churches gather together!)
Some of our churches meet at static places around one of the valleys. Others take turns meeting at different church members’ homes so each has an opportunity to invite their neighbors to join easily.
